The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken strict action against three women cricketers for indiscipline. As per reports, the incident took place during Pakistan’s National Women’s Cricket Championship.

The Pakistani media has reported that two players, Sadaf Shams and Yusra inflicted physical harm on their  Ayesha Bilal. Ayesha was left with a bleeding nose after the altercation with Sadaf and Yusra. Ayesha initially decided against taking action and remained silent for two days before changing her mind.

She lodged a formal complaint against Sadaf and Yusra before the PCB decided to take action. The cricket board has banned all three players on a temporary basis and has barred them from participating in any cricketing activity until further notice. The matter will be further investigated by Tania Malik, the Chairperson of Women’s Cricket.

PCB to investigate the matter:

According to Geo Super, Malik will visit Rawalpindi to investigate the whole matter. The PCB is unhappy with the incident and has decided to get to the bottom of the entire matter. It could take further action against all the players if they are found guilty. For the time being, the players will have to spend time on the sidelines and wait for the investigation to conclude.

Meanwhile, the PCB is currently without a permanent chairperson since Zaka Ashraf tendered his resignation earlier this month. As per reports, Mohsin Naqvi is the favorite to take charge of the board once the much-awaited elections are held. The elections are likely to take next week. PCB election commissioner Shah Khawar is currently serving as the temporary chairman of the board.

Meanwhile, the National Women’s Cricket Championship got underway on January 15 and will conclude on January 31. A total of six regional teams – Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, and Rawalpindi – are participating in it. The report stated that the winners of the competition will receive one million Pakistani rupees, while the runners-up will get 0.5 million Pakistani rupees.
