Australia takes on West Indies in a three-match T20I series after winning the ODI series. Australia clean swept the visiting Windies side in the ODI series. The first T20I will be played in Hobart and the match starts at 1.30 pm IST.

Australia won the first ODI won the first ODI by 8 wickets, the second by 83 runs, and the third by 10 wickets as they chased the target down inside 7 overs. Australia is fourth heading into this T20I series while Wets Indies is seventh.

The team is struggling with injury concerns for key players. Matthew Short is out of the T20I series with a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, Nathan Ellis is out with a rib injury and Spender Johnson has been named as his replacement.

Australia will be led by Mitchell Mash in this T20I series. Maxwell can bat at three. He was rested from the ODI series against West Indies as he was rehabilitating from an injury. He last played for Australia in the ODI World Cup. He is approaching 2500 runs in the format.

One among Inglis or Wade can be the keeper-batsman. Both of them can bat anywhere in the batting lineup and are safe with the gloves. Inglis is a bit more unorthodox with his approach.

Stoinis will slot in at five. He is back in the SA20 after a stint with the Durban Super Giants. He is 85 short of 1000 T20I runs and has picked 27 wickets in the format.

Tim David

Power hitter Tim David will slot in at six. He is another specialist player in the Australian T20I side. He plays for the MI Cape Town in SA20 and MI Emirates in the ILT20 apart from playing for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. David also has a chance to complete 1000 T20I runs in the series.

Sean Abbott

Abbott has been in form with both bat and ball. He played a match-winning innings in the second ODI scoring 69 balls and also took three wickets with the ball. He might be chosen over Aaron Hardie.

Josh Hazlewood

Hazlewood after a break in the third ODI is back in the Australian T20I side. He will lead the attack in the absence of Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc. He has picked up 58 wickets from 41 T20Is.

Jason Beherndorff

The left-arm pacer will pair up with Hazlewood from the other end. He is an ideal replacement for Strc who can swing the ball up front. Beherendorff has picked up 15 wickets from 14 T20Is.

Spencer Johnson

Johnson replaced Nathan Ellis in the squad. He recently won the BBL title with the Brisbane Heat. He made his T20I debut against South Africa in August 2023 and has picked two wickets in two matches.

Adam Zampa

Zampa concludes the playing XI as the specialist spinner. He played in the ODI series against West Indies and is a part of the T20I squad as well. He has picked up 84 wickets in 74 games.
