The third Test between India and England is going on at the Niranjan Shah Cricket Stadium in Rajkot. India is in a strong position after taking a lead of more than 440 runs at lunch on Day 4. Yashasvi Jaiswal is on the brink of reaching his 150 for the third time in his career. He has scored two centuries in Test cricket before this and both of them were 150+ scores. Jaiswal smashed his maiden double hundred in the second Test where he scored 209 in the first innings in Vizag.

Former India opener Virender Sehwag has hailed Jaiswal’s prowess against spinners in the series and has lauded the way he has treated the spinners taking an aggressive stance against them. He is currently unbeaten on 149 smashing 11 fours and seven sixes. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 80 in Hyderabad, 209 in Vizag, and 149* right now in Rajkot. He has been in brilliant form in this series and has established himself as India’s Test opener with this performance.

Virender Sehwag was known for his aggressive stance against the spinners and he was one of the best players against spin. Yashasvi Jaiswal has shown a similar mindset which has been appreciated by the former India opener. He tweeted praising Jaiswal for scoring consecutive centuries and lauded the treatment he has given to the English spinners.

England has heavily relied on the spinners in the second innings as they have bowled 62 out of the 82 overs bowled in this innings. Apart from a runout of Shubman Gill, all three wickets have been taken by the three spinners respectively. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal has taken on the spinners pretty well and has been brilliant in his innings as of now. Virender Sehwag wrote on ‘X’, “Back-to-back centuries for Yashasvi Jaiswal. Treating spinners the way they should be treated.”
