Yashasvi Jaiswal turned out to be the star of the show for India during the second innings. Jaiswal smashed his second double-century of the series. Jaiswal played an innings of 209 runs in the second Test match played in Visakhapatnam. Yashasvi remained unbeaten on 214 runs from 236 balls in the second innings of the third Test and smashed 14 fours and 12 sixes during his stay at the crease. On the other hand, Sarfaraz Khan also played a brilliant hand of 68 runs from 72 balls and put up a partnership of 172 runs from just 158 balls for the 5th wicket.

The partnership ensured that India’s lead crossed the 500-run mark and also gave them the chance to strengthen their chances of winning the game.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has been the biggest positive for India from the first three Tests of the IND vs ENG Test series. The batter has showcased immense talent and caliber to hit daddy hundreds with a fast scoring rate. He goes after the bowler from the first ball of the innings and never allows them to settle. Also, he gives the Indian management his left-handed advantage which also makes it difficult for the bowlers to bowl against him. Yashasvi Jaiswal lifts the pressure from his partner due to his aggressive display of cricket and lets them score runs more freely.

Apart from Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan is also a major talking point of the third IND vs ENG Test match. The right-handed batter scored a pair of half-centuries and showed immense maturity while batting throughout the match. Sarfaraz played all the types of shots and never allowed the English bowlers to bowl on one line and length.

Thus far in the series, India have found it difficult to play to their best capacity at bat. This featured the dismal performance of Indian batters like Shreyas Iyer and KS Bharat. Additionally, in the first two Tests, both Shubman Gill and captain Rohit Sharma were unable to fully express themselves. But while Rohit hammered a century in the opening innings of the third Test, Gill notched a ton in the second Test match.

The Indian management made the correct option in selecting Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan over Shreyas Iyer and KS Bharat, although the hosts utilized their full batting potential in the third Test.
