Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has garnered a lot of praise after his consecutive double-hundred during the third IND vs ENG Test match played in Rajkot. Jaiswal played an unbeaten innings of 214 runs in the second innings of the match and helped India set the visitors a massive target of 557 runs. India wrapped up England for 122 runs in their second innings and registered a win by 434 runs.

Former England captain Nasser Hussain has heaped praise on the young Indian opener. While speaking to Sky Sports, Hussain stated that the English batsmen shall learn from Yashasvi Jaiswal. Nasser added that Jaiswal has had a lot to learn from his hard times and his upbringing. He said that under the current regime, there is no room for criticism but there is still to learn for England under the current management.

Nasser Hussain said, “He has learnt from us, okay I am gonna touch on that. He has not learnt from you, he has learnt from as I say, his upbringing and all the hard yards he has had to put in growing up. He has learnt from the IPL, if anything lacks, I would look at him, learn from him.”

“Whatever they are saying in public and in that dressing room, and I hope they are going back to their room and a little bit of self-introspection, I think yeah I can look at that lad and learn from him and I can improve. Otherwise, it does become a cult doesn’t it, at times ‘bazball’ under this regime has been that you cannot criticise under or within.”

“This is the way we play, I go back to the Ashes series, and I reckon they have changed because of their skipper, the way he batted at Lord’s and I think there is still a lot to learn under this regime.”

Yashasvi Jaiswal has turned out to be a blessing for Rohit Sharma and Co. ever since he made his debut in international cricket. Jaiswal smashed a hundred on his Test debut against West Indies and has played a lot of inspiring knocks since then for India. Jaiswal wasn’t able to score runs during the last Test series against South Africa, however, the left-handed opener has come back strong and already smashed 2 double-hundreds in the ongoing series.

Yashasvi Jaiswal takes on the bowlers from the first ball and smashes the opposition to all parts of the ground. Jaiswal also allows his partners the freedom to play in their style and spend time on the crease. Jaiswal would be aiming to continue his dream form in the ongoing series and help India win the series.

India currently leads the five-match series by 2-1 and also made huge gains in the World Test Championship 2023-25 points table. The caravan of the series will move to Ranchi where the fourth Test match will be played next Friday. England have given tough competition to India in the series so far and would aim to do the same in the upcoming Test.
