In the chase of 223 runs, Australia had a decent start but they lost wickets quickly and their chances to win looked bleak. However, Glenn Maxwell chipped in and played a blinder of an innings. The batter came to bat when the team was tumbling at 66/2. 

Glenn Maxwell looked in staggering touch and was in the mood as he made a mockery of Indian bowlers. The all-rounder continued his golden touch from the World Cup 2023 and did the carnage on the young Indian team, smashing them all over the park.

Despite wickets falling at the other end, Glenn Maxwell looked unfazed as he continued playing his shots. The batter put on an exhibition of unorthodox batting and made the crowd at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati go absolutely silent. 

Glenn Maxwell brought up his ton in 47 balls and made sure that he took his side to glory. The all-rounder slammed his fourth T20I, which is also his joint-fastest for Australia. He ended with the knock of unbeaten 104 runs off 48 balls. The all-rounder batted with a strike rate of around 217 and also slammed 8 fours and 8 sixes in his innings.

Glenn Maxwell stepped up big time for his team. Australia were 2-0 down in the series and they needed to win to keep the series alive. The all-rounder did an exceptional job for his team in a pressure situation. He also joined Rohit Sharma in the most number of tons in T20Is.
