The ongoing Qualifier 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is currently taking place between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. Exciting first innings were on the offer as both teams stepped in at crucial junctures. 

Asked to bat first, CSK were served with a great start as Ruturaj Gaikwad (60) and Devon Conway (40) smashed 87 runs for the opening partnership. Their dazzling hands put the MS Dhoni-led side in the dominant position at the halfway stage.

But after that Gujarat Titans staggering pulled back the things with some brilliant bowlers from both spinners and the pacers. Ravindra Jadeja however, tried his best to help his side get back in the game. He did to a great extent but couldn’t finish the innings on high.

Ravindra Jadeja was bowled out by Mohammed Shami on the last ball of the innings and it’s fair to say that it deprived CSK of a total of 175 runs as he batted brilliantly. The pacer bowled a slower delivery, to which the all-rounder tried to clear his front leg and missed the ball that crashed onto the stumps.

GT vs CSK: Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad yet again provide CSK with a staggering start 

Asked to bat first, the duo of Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad continued their dream run in the IPL 2023 as they yet again provided Chennai Super Kings with a blistering start at the top. Their opening partnership put CSK in a dominant position as they stitched 87 runs for the opening partnership. 

Conway scored 40 runs off 34 balls whereas Gaikwad ended with the knock of 60 runs in 44 balls. They with their partnership registered most runs as a pair for CSK in an IPL season.
