However, the Aussie batter will never forget his dismissal in the match as Justin Greaves grabbed a superb catch to dismiss him. Justin Greaves made a stunning dive at covers to astonish Will Sutherland and the crowd with his fabulous fielding.

The Australia vs West Indies 2nd ODI takes place at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in Sydney, Australia. West Indies won the toss and opted to bowl first in the match. They trail 1-0 after losing the opening encounter.

In the 46th over of Australia’s innings, pacer Romario Shepherd bowled a full toss outside-off to Will Sutherland. As the bowling all-rounder tried to chip it towards covers, Justin Greaves attempted a fabulous dive to collect the ball. Have a look at the video of the dismissal below.

The entire stadium at Sydney was stunned to witness Justin Greaves’s reflexes and cheered for the West Indies opener. Will Sutherland could only add 18 runs off 33 balls in his first international game.

West Indies halt Australia at 258-9 in 2nd ODI

Meanwhile, West Indies restricted Australia at 258-9 in AUS vs WI 2nd ODI in Sydney. Asked to bat first, the home side lost openers Jake Fraser-McGurk (10) and Josh Inglis (9) cheaply. Later, they also lost skipper Steve Smith for just 5 runs.

However, one-down Cameron Green added 33 runs off 41 balls. Later, Marnus Labuschagne (26) and Matthew Short (41) also scored crucial knocks after the initial batting collapse of 91-5. All-rounder Sean Abbott executed the comeback for Australia’s batting.

Abott stormed 69 runs off 63 deliveries with 4 stunning sixes and one boundary. He rescued Australia to cross the 250-run mark after the hosts railed at 167-7 at one stage. Notably, West Indies failed to bowl out the Aussies even after a stunning start in bowling.

Spinner Gudakesh Motie hunted the most 3 wickets for the team. Romario Shepherd and Alzarri Joseph clinched 2 scalps each while Matthew Forde and Oshane Thomas grabbed 1 wicket each.

West Indies lose 3 wickets quickly during the chase

During the chase, West Indies lost 3 wickets for 70 runs on the board till the 18th over. Openers Justin Greaves (8) and Alick Athanaze (11) failed to fire with the bat. Kjorn Ottley lost his wicket cheaply for 8 runs. Aaron Hardie, Josh Hazlewood, and Sean Abbott got the first three wickets for Australia while bowling.

Earlier, Australia won the 1st ODI by 8 wickets. Hence, they lead the series 1-0. Australia vs West Indies ODI series will witness 3 encounters ahead of the T20I series, which will also observe an equal number of matches.
