Award Winners Reuben & Cherie Quezada and Family. Precept number four from The Way to Happiness booklet* ® is “Love and Help Children.” Just about everyone everywhere can really get behind this one! Therefore, we have created an award to honor and recognize those amazing individuals who apply this precept in stellar fashion. The Way to Happiness Outdoors Club International is pleased to announce the “Love and Help Children” Award. The very first recipients of this award are Reuben and Cherie Quezada. Due to their caring determination and high responsibility level, they took action to see that two kidnapped children were found and safely returned to their mother. Even when the local police dismissed the kidnapping as a domestic dispute, Reuben & Cherie refused to go into agreement with that department's lack of responsibility and took the matter up with the FBI, who took the matter seriously and acted accordingly. An official alert was issued and the children were found with the kidnapper hundreds of miles away. During the ordeal, Cherie even stayed with the distraught mother to help and assist her. And after the children were reunited with their mother, Reuben & Cherie continued to provide valuable assistance. Had Reuben & Cherie not persisted in this matter, these children could have faced a grave fate. The Way to Happiness Outdoors Club International is very proud to have presented Reuben & Cherie Quezada our first “Love and Help” Children Award. Near the end of the preceding year, The Way to Happiness Outdoors Club International raised the funds to print 20,000 custom-cover copies of The Way to Happiness booklet, which were very rapidly distributed on Hollywood Boulevard at The L. Ron Hubbard Winter Wonderland. Pictured above (left to right) are Mike Graffam, Greg Saunders, Frank Clark, Marty Sherman, Capt. Scott Rhoads, Santa and Bob Sullivan. We have a full and exciting schedule for 2006. We will be having more fishing derbies, pistol & revolver safety classes, plus some youth air soft games. The Way to Happiness Outdoors Club of Clearwater (Florida) is going strong with some very successful fund-raising events. Thirty-one golfers played in their recent golf tournament which raised $5,000 to print copies of The Way to Happiness booklet. Pictured above (left to right) are Dustin Kicinski, Charles Steele, Thom Kicinski, David Lurie and David Banks. Their new office space located at 619 Cleveland Street is awesome! And they will soon put out 48,000 copies of The Way to Happiness booklet in the Clearwater/Tampa area. For info on future events or to volunteer, call them at 727-644-9006. (Note: They also need a paid, full-time sales person.) EXPANSION NEWS We are very excited about our next Outdoors Club chapter which will be opening very soon in East Grinstead, Sussex, England! A “very well done” to The Way to Happiness Outdoors Club Clearwater for recruiting David Banks to head it up! And a “very well done” to David Banks as well. The success of The Way to Happiness Outdoors Club demands that we export it to communities all across The United States and the world. Right now, plans are in the works for Outdoors Club chapters in Houston, Austin, Seattle and Johannesburg, South Africa. Operating your own chapter of The Way to Happiness Outdoors Club would not only be incredible fun, you would also be providing such a valuable service to your community and to mankind. The purpose of this beautifully done DVD is to provide a truly aesthetic and interesting means by which to make known who we are and what we do. This six-minute DVD does just that. Thanks to Michael O'Brien and his son Christopher for donating their services to shoot and produce this DVD. We would like to thank Geoff Levin for donating the background music for it. Also, we would like to thank Mike Sullivan for creating our Outdoors Club logo which was used on this DVD cover. Copies of our new DVD may be ordered for only $7 each by giving us a call at 818-353-0120. Included with each DVD order will be a custom-cover copy of The Way to Happiness booklet. To date, this figure is the total number of copies of The Way to Happiness booklet we have funded. Laid out in a straight line end-to-end, this number of booklets would stretch all the way from Pasadena's Rose Bowl to Disneyland in Anaheim! And we're not going to slow down. We fully intend to hit the 1,000,000 mark by the end of 2006! There is a large demand out in society for The Way to Happiness booklet. And even with the high volume of booklets we've already funded and put out, the public demand is only increasing. Let's supply that demand right now! Let's put it out there! WEEKLY MEETINGS Regular weekly meetings are held on Wednesdays. In the Clearwater area, the meeting starts at 6:00 PM and is at their office, located at 619 Cleveland Street, Clearwater. And if you live in the greater Los Angeles area, the meeting starts at 7:30 PM and is held at The Way to Happiness Foundation International, which is located at 201 E. Broadway in Glendale.
